| Health Services Staff |
Each building in the school district has an individual
health room. The health rooms are staffed by a certified school nurse
or an RN/LPN health room nurse whenever students are in attendance. Some
of the certified school nurses are nurse practitioners with advanced education
and certification in physical assessment. A school physician is also available
for consultation, sports physicals and scoliosis screening. |

| Qualifications of a School
Nurse (in Pennsylvania) |
- Minimum education = R.N. with a bachelor's degree and 24 hours of postgraduate work in school nursing.
- PA mandated ratio of 1 certified school nurse:1,500 students.
- Many school nurses have master's degrees.
- PA State Certification required.
