Important – Your child must by in compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s school immunization regulations to attend school. Students not in compliance may not attend school.
The PA Department of Health has made changes to the school immunization regulations that will be in place for the start of the 2017-2018 school year. These regulations are intended to ensure that children attending school in PA are adequately protected against outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases.
Previously, the PA Department of Health allowed parents up to eight months to complete the necessary immunizations. This provision no longer exists and all required immunizations must be completed before the start of school unless the child has a medical, religious/philosophical, strong moral or ethical exemption.
The new regulation pertains to all school districts across the state, so Manheim Township School District is recommending parents make an appointment with their doctors as soon as possible to avoid appointment delays and be in compliance for the upcoming school year.
