Welcome March and hello to spring!
Our Bobcat 5 trait for March is cooperation. Teamwork is an important part of every day life at Brecht. As a school community, we value cooperation and working together to achieve goals. In following tradition, during the month of March we will be recognizing students for their cooperation at home. Cooperation Alerts are attached to this newsletter. This is your chance to highlight how your child cooperates at home. Your child may bring the cooperation alert back to school and we will proudly display this alert in the office hallway. I look forward to reading about all the ways our Bobcats show cooperation at home!
January and February have been busy at Brecht. The PTO sponsored a great Dance Party and we had over forty students participate in Brecht’s Project Fair. The projects were awesome. Thanks to Mrs. Pagano and PTO volunteers for coordinating and helping with Brecht’s Book Fair. Proceeds from the book fair will go to purchasing additional books for our library. Thank you to the PTO for a great Hearts and Manners lunch experience for our students. In February, we focused on Black History Month as we learned about famous black American heroes. To top it off, all students in grades K-4 were issued iPads to complete the district’s 1:1 initiative.
Brecht’s PTO continues to offer awesome events for our school community. International Night will take place on March 7th from 6-7:30 pm. The next PTO meeting is Tuesday, March 20th at 6:30 pm. The Brecht Talent Show will take place on March 28th at 6:00pm. Thank you for your active involvement in Brecht’s activities. It is terrific to see our students and families enjoying the many events that are offered at Brecht. Please consider volunteering or helping out with our PTO events. Every bit of help makes a big difference. Thank you for your cooperation and happy spring to each and every one of you!
