Happy 2019, Bobcats!
In January, we will be focusing on our Bobcat 5 trait: Excellence. At Brecht, we focus on learning and fostering the qualities of having a growth mindset, not just for students but also for our entire school community. Our motto is that we do whatever it takes, and then some. Having a growth mindset helps us get through challenging situations. We recognize that building grit and resiliency help lead us to excellence.
Thank you for adhering to our school district’s attendance guidelines. Just a reminder that excuse notes must be submitted within 3 days of your child’s return to school following an absence and educational trip requests must be made 5 days in advance of a trip or family travel. Manheim Township School District is mandated to follow the attendance requirements that are established by the State of Pennsylvania. We recognize that attendance in school is essential to a child’s overall development and success as a student. Attendance guidelines can be found in the Elementary Handbook that was sent home at the beginning of the school year. If you have any questions regarding attendance, please call Brecht’s Office at 291-1733.
After the holiday break, we will return to school on Wednesday, January 2nd. There is no school on January 21st and an early dismissal on January 31st. Brecht’s Bingo Night is on Jan. 9th from 6-7:30 and the next PTO meeting is Wednesday, January 15th at 6:30 p.m. Childcare will be provided.
It is a pleasure to work with the Brecht Community. I enjoy the energy that a new year brings as well as a year filled with a growth mindset, learning, resiliency, and a new Brecht entrance J. I look forward to seeing you in 2019!
