Hello to spring! Our theme for April is responsibility. Brecht Bobcats are asked to demonstrate responsibility for their learning at home and at school. One area where it is especially important that our students demonstrate responsibility and safety is when they are on the Internet. The best protection for children is to remind them of proper online behaviors and digital citizenship. Supervision is important! We continually teach and remind students of these expected behaviors at school. Be sure to discuss Internet safety with your child at home and monitor the sites that your child accesses. Please check out this link for some ideas on how to discuss digital citizenship at home: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/educators/digitalcitizenshipweek/home
Just a reminder that English Language Arts (ELA) and Math PSSAs will be administered to third and fourth graders, April 16-18 and April 30-May 1. Fourth graders will take the Science PSSA on May 2-3. We appreciate your help at home during this time (and always), in being sure that your child is getting appropriate rest during these testing windows. We will be providing snacks for our 3rd and 4th graders on PSSA test days.
The next Brecht PTO meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2nd at 6:30 pm. We appreciate all the work our PTO does and invite you to be part of a great team that supports our students, families and staff. We are planning ahead and need volunteers for next year’s events. Please consider volunteering. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Just a reminder that third marking period report cards will be sent home on April 12th. As always, I thank you for your partnership. It is truly an honor to be a part of your child’s education.
