Manheim Township School District has partnered with Owl Hill Learning Centers to provide parents with information and tips on early science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts to children starting as early as newborn to age 5.
STEM Starts Now is a new digital parent subscription program created by local pediatric occupational therapist, Dr. Aimee Ketchum. Written by a team of early childhood developmental experts, STEM Starts Now helps babies by first supporting parents through weekly e-mails tailored to the child’s age and developmental level. It is packed with tips, STEM activities, videos, articles, and information on physical, social-emotional, language, and intellectual development to help children master the skills necessary for success in kindergarten, future academics and leadership roles in today’s global world.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, 60% of children are not kindergarten-ready by the first day of school. MTSD and Owl Hill Learning Centers have partnered to be more proactive and committed in making sure their youngest students are prepared by helping to provide the foundation in the critical years leading up to the start of kindergarten.
STEM Starts now is ideal for every child under the age of five and it is already making significant differences in the lives of children all over the world. Parents and care-givers of children age newborn to five in the Manheim Township School District can subscribe for free by going to STEM Starts Now.
