What’s Going On At Reidenbaugh?

What’s Going On At Reidenbaugh?

Each month we try to take a look at all the fun things our “Hoppers” are doing at Reidenbaugh. This month the 3rd graders will be participating in the “March Madness Poetry Challenge” where students will have the chance to create and publish their own poems, read them to their peers, and advance in the poetry bracket to see who will be the ultimate poetry winner. Students will be scored on the content of the poem and how they present the poem with fluency and expression. They will advance through the “Elite Eight”, “Final Four”, and the “Finals” until we have our ultimate poetry winner in 3rd grade. The best part about this is seeing each student having fun writing poems and embracing their “competitive” spirits. The bracket is already under way and can be found at the car rider door.

3rd grade is also busy strengthening their STEM and coding minds by working on a Winter Olympics design challenge and a Valentine’s Day coding challenge. The students have really loved collaborating in groups to create a speed skater and code using the Ozobots in the STEAM lab.

Notes From the Office

Congratulations to Jerry Haas who is retiring from working at Reidenbaugh for 13 years as one of our evening custodians. We are so grateful to have worked with Jerry and we wish him all the best during this next chapter of his life. He will be greatly missed. His last day was March 23rd, 2018.

We will no longer be sending out an automated phone call to remind you of SCHEDULED early dismissals or a SCHEDULED school closing.

The automated calls will be reserved for unexpected early dismissals or emergencies.
