FUN TIMES AT REIDENBAUGH – FEBRUARY 2019

Gillis, KellyFebruary 15, 2019Reidenbaugh Elementary News

Reminder – Reidenbaugh will be in session on Monday, February 18th, 2019.

FUN TIMES AT REIDENBAUGH

Each month we will take a look at all of the fun things our “Hoppers” are doing at Reidenbaugh. This month our 2nd graders have been very busy! They just wrapped up an exciting nonfiction unit on the Rainforest. Students learned Digital Citizenship knowledge and the value of safe sites, using World Book Kids to research on their iPads.

In addition, they continue to practice their friendly letter writing skills by sending letters through the “Reidenbaugh Post Office” that is taking place the whole month of February school-wide. The students can send letters to friends in their class, as well as students in other classes and faculty members.

The second graders are really looking forward to their upcoming science unit on fossil fuels.  In this new unit, they will be participating in hands-on learning in our STEAM Lab to better understand how the Earth’s processes and human activities affect each other.

All Hoppers enjoyed participating in Hot Cocoa Grams – raising money for Reidenbaugh’s mini-Thon and celebrating the 100th day of school!

New Security at Reidenbaugh

The district has been working on having all doors locked in all of the buildings. This past week Reidenbaugh has added this new security measure. When you come to the front entrance all of the doors will be locked. As you face the doors, on the right hand side, there is a doorbell for you to push that will connect you to the office. The office can see you and speak to you once the doorbell is pushed. The office will ask what they can help you with and then will give you access to the main lobby. You will still need to be buzzed into the main office. Thank you for your patience through this transition.
