At the April 2, 2026 Facilities Committee Meeting, RLPS Architects presented the Phase III Campus Master Plan, which outlined the proposed improvements for the Manheim Township School District’s athletic facilities. The presentation is available here.

Engagement and Priorities

The project team has held several recent meetings, including site visits and sessions with coaches and the steering committee throughout March 2026. Using the MoSCoW method (Must Have, Should Have, Could Have, Won’t Have), the district identified several “Must-Have” priorities:

  • Stadium Upgrades: New home-side bleacher seating (South) and accessibility improvements.

  • Locker Rooms: A new locker room to accommodate a 90–100 player football team, plus dedicated rooms for fall/spring sports and visitors.

  • Support Facilities: A trainer’s room, officials’ locker room, and new public restrooms near the stadium and Journey fields.

  • Baseball/Softball: New seating, concessions, and press boxes for both facilities.

Design Options

The presentation introduced two primary design concepts for a new structure at the east end of the stadium. Both options incorporate a “Blue Streak” concourse and improvements to the baseball and softball fields. To manage costs, the team identified efficiencies such as centralizing bathrooms and combining the alumni room, classroom, and team room into a single multi-purpose space.

  • Option A: A new structure with a condensed footprint.

  • Option B: A new structure designed to serve as an endzone backdrop.

Cost and Schedule

  • Estimated Cost: The total project cost is estimated between $19,500,000 and $22,500,000.

  • Next Steps:

    • April 16, 2026: Board meeting to vote on the preferred design option.

    • April 17, 2026: Commencement of schematic design.

    • June 2026: Zoning Hearing Board submittal for special exceptions regarding building length and height.
